The Comic Book

Reading comic books like the first Batman and Mary Marvel truly is a blast from the past. I cant help to compare this titles with the current popularity that this comics get. It is amazing how much impact comics have on our current daily life’s. The most amazing thing is comparing the art style and seeing what inspired the heroes that I know today. Its also interesting to see how many other super hero stories were out there at the time, yet we only hear about some of them. So what makes one more memorable then the other? I guess it depends the emotional state of the country at the time, which is influenced by war and politics. Either way, comics are something that is relevant even now days and will keep being relevant in the future.

The Comic Strip

While reading several comic strips, there where a couple of things that captured my attention. The first thing, is the language that is used on them. It  might be my lack of knowledge, but the sentences are structured on ways that are difficult to understand. I mostly believe this is due to the time period, as most of the comics that are ready where written on the 1240's. The second thing that I notices is that they all seem to have a linear structure. This is something that I believe has changed with time. Current comics are way more dynamic and experimental when it comes to the positioning of images on a page. Lastly, I noticed they all have similar subject matter. with this i mean that they all deal with  mundane situations. There would be no fantasy, no mystery, just your normal human life with a small twist that is predictable most of the time. It was interesting reading all these old  comics strips and compare then to the comics we produce today.
